Handmade origami fireworks!

Yesterday as a slight procrastination tool I made this origami firework! It was actually pretty easy and there is a really good video tutorial for it.

This firework is a celebration of me being FINISHED with uni for the year! WOO!
Now, back to writing! I'm sooooo behind!

Don't forget to write!

'Don't forget to write' is an art project currently on in the library at University. I had seen the posters advertising it but did not really know what it was until David told me more about it. He said he'd written a few letters for it. So, being the keen letter writer I am, I decided to poke about.

It actually took me a while to find where it was hiding in the library.

I sat down and there were lots of different letter sets to choose from! And even real ink quills!

I wrote out my letter, trying to sound inspiring...

Then posted it and took one in return...

This was it:

It was about biking, which was awesome because I biked to Uni that very day!

It has inspired me to stop being so lazy and start writing even more letters, cause god knows I've got heaps of writing paper!

If you are at Uni, you should go check it out too.
But be quick cause it's only on until the end of Thursday.

Les timbres!

After recently getting my stamp made, and falling in love with heaps of other stamps at the store I thought it wise to spend my money wisely. Instead of spending up to $20 on a stamp I decided to make my own!

Here is how!
Buy some really cheap erasers (the tougher the better)

Now draw a picture on one side (get ideas from the internet)

Then cut this out with a small knife

Stamp is all done!

Next ink it up

and stamp it everywhere!

YAY success!

Air Mail aka Balloon Post

Who doesn't like getting a letter in the mail?
But sometimes you want to send something a little bit different than a standard letter, one that won't get mixed up with all the bills...
Well here is an idea you might like!
Balloon post!

This is what you will need to do...

Get your hands on the following items:
A cool balloon,
A vivid
A biro
Some string
Stamps
And a tag

First, blow up the balloon, either yourself (you will have to wash it after) or with a balloon pump.

Make sure you blow it up quite big and DON'T TIE IT, just hold it in one hand.

Next using your vivid, write your letter on the balloon.

Wait for the note to dry, test it with your finger. After it is dry slowly let down the balloon.

Now attach stamps to the tag, and write the 'TO' address on that side.

On the other side write some instructions...

Then attach to the balloon with the string

Lastly POST IT!

and hope the NZ post are kind <3

TAG! - You're it

Time to make cute Christmas tags!

Get your hands on some cool paper - as usual I'm using brown paper!

Fold paper in half length ways then cut into four as pictured

Cut off the top corners

Punch holes in the top

I added some snowflake stamps

Then sew along each of the edges with a fun coloured thread

Then add twine and then name of recipient or in my case-the price for my christmas crafts

Add tag to present or what have you!

all done!! ^u^
